Update: Festival #18 May 7-10, 2025

We are here for our friends and strangers alike in Los Angeles. The magnitude of the devastation is beyond comprehension. If you need to be in contact, please reach out to us! For a way to help out, please go visit the article in the link with some good ideas and options to help out. If you have other organizations and important information, please pass this onn to us and we will help distribute.

Fest update: We are working OT here in the UFF and are excited already for next years festival screenings. after a feww hiccups, the 1st Friday open screenings and mic have been great. Thank you to the many filmmakers and to the Underground Film Forum community for all of the input. theater opens at 7pm and screenings begin around 8.

We are hard at work on the 18th annual festival coming in May. For the 8th year, we will be screening during the annual Philly Tech Week and holding our conversations on Storytelling in the age of AI. It’s a great time to be a filmmaker, but different even from a few years ago. Then again, a few years ago was the pandemic, then the strike. So here we are.

If you want to get involved in with PIFF contact or take part in these discussions, come out to the open screenings or contact us HERE.

Venue updates: Despite the demise of UArts, Lightbox theater has moved to its new location in the storied BOK building. We will be discussing possible screenings there shortly. We do remember the vast amount of Parking complaints and we hear you. We are working on this now. We will be at the Ethical Society and of course the Film Center and the Filmmakers lounge. We’ll keep you posted.

That’s it for now! Thank you to everyone for connecting with us and for the submissions. We’re looking forward to updating you with many exciting things we are working on.

Best, PIFF #18 team
