The Countdown Begins: PIFF 2025 Schedule Drops Tonight

The excitement is building — and we’re thrilled to share that the official schedule for the 2025 Philadelphia Independent Film Festival will be released this evening! All screening times and event dates will be posted on our website and sent directly to participating filmmakers. We’re incredibly grateful for your patience, and we promise it’s been worth the wait.

We’re launching this year’s festival with something close to our Philly hearts: Opening Night is Comedy Night!
Expect an electric evening of locally made comedy films, live stand-up performances, and an open mic that invites anyone brave enough to grab the mic and make us laugh. It’s a night to celebrate community, creativity, and the joy of storytelling — Philly style.

We also want to take a moment to thank the global independent filmmaking community. This year we received submissions from over 50 countries, with films that were raw, visionary, experimental, and unforgettable. Your work continues to challenge norms, push boundaries, and deepen conversations. We’re honored to showcase your voices — each one adding something powerful and unique to the festival.

PIFF 2025 is held in conjunction with Philly Tech Week, and we’re especially excited to present our annual discussions exploring the intersection of storytelling and technology. These panels and conversations offer insight into how filmmakers are innovating in real-time — from immersive media and AI in storytelling, to hybrid forms that blend narrative, design, and interactivity.

So here’s to the storytellers, the risk-takers, and the communities that support them. The films are bold. The ideas are big. And the countdown is officially on!
